My Favorite Time of Year

>> Tuesday, August 15, 2017

Hi Everyone,

Fall is definitely a favorite time of year in my house.  As a kid I loved summer, but since I'm a grown up and I don't have to go back to school, I'm all for cooler temperatures, all things pumpkin and the gorgeous colors of the autumn leaves.  Also, with all the holidays looming ahead, it's the best time for card making!  You'll want to get your ink pads ready, because DRS Designs has some fun Halloween stamps coming your way at the end of this week, and I've got a quick peek of one today.

I love this festive new greeting stamp in the shape of a witch's hat (310F)! I stamped it on black cardstock and embossed it with white embossing powder.  I then fussy cut it, and placed it on the jack-o-lantern part of the Fancy Pumpkin stamp that was colored and fussy cut as well, attaching it to a die cut oval and some matting.

The background was dry embossed using a pumpkin embossing folder and I made some patterned paper using one of my favorite background stamps, the Splatter Background.  I stamped in orange and yellow ink to match my background paper and then I used my square punches to create the pieces. I attached them to the background and added a strip of black embellished with gemstone brads before adhering the image with dimensional tape.

So, check out this photo right here:

Halloween candy in July!  I snapped this picture back in JULY!

If I buy it now, I'll just have to keep buying more because I will have eaten it.  Or if I wait too long to buy, I'm afraid I'll be gone and I'll be the one house giving out weird hard candy, like peppermint swirls and butterscotch buttons...lol!  The struggle is real people :)

Hope you all are having a sweet week!

Super fun card, Karin. Love the pumpkin with the hat (great coloring and embossing) and fun colors. I am so with you on the cooler weather and the candy struggles. I have already bought candy corn - you can't get it all year you know - lol. Hugz

Super cute card, Karin. I really like the new image stamped on black CS & embossed in white. Fun card design too. I haven't bought any candy yet, but candy corn will soon make an appearance in my house, I am certain!

Very cute! I love your colorful bg and the hat sitting on the jack-o-lantern is perfect! Great embossing folder too!
We live out on a long dark road so we do NOT get trick or treaters, not in over 30 years...to scary at night! No candy at our house but we often buy it in bulk for our church as they have a Trunk R Treat for the community.
